For our first line up announcement a few weeks ago Rob da Bank wrote up some more info on some of the maybe less well known acts that we were announcing. This follows below. Our new website will go live very soon and will also feature further information on all the acts listed above.

Levellers – No intro needed for probably the best festival band in the world. They might have lost the dreadlocks but they aint lost the power!

Jah Wobble – Vintage festival legend Mr Wobble will be bringing his bass heavy dub vibrations to the Island and very probably making it wobble.

Gregory Isaacs – Night Nurse, Mr Cop, Thief A Man, Big All Around – the huuugggeee reggae legend is gonna light up the Isle of Wight with his reggae back catalogue that stretches back to 1969, four years before Rob da Bank was even born!

Dub Pistols (pictured) – A Bestival stalwart and newly signed to Rob da Bank's Sunday Best label. Check out incredible covers of Blondie's Rapture and The Special's Gangsters sung by the one and only Terry Hall, Rodney P and the rest of the rudeboys.

Horace Andy – Skylarking, You Are My Angel and his ace version of Ain't No Sunshine combined with his incredible work with Massive Attack more recently make this falsetto voiced Jamaican one of the best loved reggae acts about …ever!

Zion Train – UK dub music pioneers are going to slaughter Bestival with their digidub delights.

The Orb – Hearing Little Fluffy Clouds for the first time changed a young-ish da Bank's musical life and direction and we're mega chuffed Alex Paterson and his band of merry men will be getting psychedelic on the Main Stage.

Billy Bragg – Folk, punk and protest music legend, the 'Bard Of Barking' and original Essex boy is gonna hammer out hits like A New England and Sexuality. A must-see at Bestival 2007.

The Maccabees – Mildly eccentric and hugely likeable British indie band fronted by the ace Orlando Weeks. Young, poppy and guaranteed to blow ya mind!

Fujiya and Miyagi – Like a bastard Hot Chip with infectious as malaria rhythms and quirky Krautrock influences. Gonna be hot in 2007!

Fionn Regan – This young Irishman is going to melt hearts with his tender voice and amazing geetar pickin! Neil Young and Bob Dylan might be influences but he's a league ahead of most singer songwriters these days.

Daedalus – Hugely loved electronic hip hop artist from Los Angeles who obviously spends too much time tinkering with samplers in his bedroom but still makes warm machine music for everyman.

Ska Cubano – A huge party sound band that mashes up 1940s swing with, well - ska, Cuban riddims and the exotic sounds of Glastonbury's Lost Vagueness. Pure skill!

Bonde de Role – Domino's biggest priority act this year, along with arctic monkeys! Body popping, hair rising baille funk from South America – most exciting new band of 2007.

Super Nashwan – Unsigned rock 'n' roll brilliance. Lazy blues and rockabilly like Bob Dylan on a tequila drip.

Kate Nash – Very hotly tipped singer songwriter who pens catchy songs about birds crapping on your head but somehow makes you wanna cry and laugh at the same time.

Remi Nicole – So hot promo copies of her record aren't even out yet but da Banks got his eye on this young lady for big things by September!

Shakes – Isle of Wight electro rock duo and brothers Darren and Matt come on like Primal Scream beating up the Rapture on Ryde seafront…and we're proud to have them on!

Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip - Their underground cult anthem 'Thou Shalt Always Kill' has been the biggest tune on da Banks radio show for months and live this duo from deepest Essex are hilarious and sinister in equal measure.

Fields – Such a beautiful noise comes out of Fields unique blend of folk, driving My Bloody Valentine guitars and sparse electronic twitches that words defeat us. Check 'em or regret!

Adjagas – Marielle and Lawra are members of the Sami tribe of Northern Scandinavia and make incredibly hypnotic Joik songs which suck you in and never let you go. Beware!
